The amount of rental is said to be a highly guarded secret
revealed only to those who want to rent space in the area.
In a resolution passed and approved during the regular session
last Tuesday, September 23, 2014 , Councilor VP Elago moved to lower the rates
by granting at 50% discount on rents.
AT the same time, the city government will award spaces to new
stall occupants who will occupy spaces vacated by old traders who claim that
rental is high and that they are not earning any profit in the ara.
It will be recalled that City Administrator Antonio Orendain Jr.
said that some of the stall holders at the Plaza del Pilar resigned their
respective stall spaces due to low revenue income since the time it was made to
open to the public.
The committee on Plaza del Pilar recommended to lower the
