Police is aggressive
in anti-crime efforts
Joining Mayor Beng Climaco during Monday's press
briefing, August 11, at City Hall, Acting City Director Sr. Supt. Angelito
Casimiro presented the PNP’s accomplishments in line with their fight against
crime and lawlessness as well as the enforcement of various laws.
Last week, police personnel conducted a total of
six operations in their campaign against wanted persons which resulted in the
arrest of seven persons.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, eight
operations were carried out, where thirteen persons were arrested. A total of
thirty-two sachets of prohibited drugs and drug paraphernalia were recovered.
The local police also led three operations
against illegal gambling and subsequently captured two persons.
A total of four firearms were likewise confiscated
in two operations organized against loose firearms. Recovered were one caliber
.22, one caliber .45, one caliber .38 and one caliber 9mm pistols.
Casimiro assured Mayor Climaco of the police
forces’ commitment to fighting criminality in the city and expressed his
gratitude for the assistance the local government is extending to their office.
