Police calls on motorcycle

owners: watch your units            

ZAMBOANGA CITY (ZNS) – The police has called on  all motorcycle owners to secure their units and not leave their motorcycles parked in any place unattended.

Motorcycles are being stolen in this city on a regular basis, according to reports at police precincts.

SPO2 Alex Mabalot, PIO  of the ZCPO in an interview said that 90 % of the stolen motorcycle are Honda XRM follow by Honda Wave and Suzuki Raider.
The  motorcycle robbers are said to be selling the motors of motorcycles to banca owners to power their pumpboats.

Others are also used for drug money, Mabalot said .

The Public Safety Company under  Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca  reported that there are still   60’s  confiscated motorcycle units  that are unclaimed by their owners.

“Nuay maga papeles, “ Mabalot said referring the 60’s motorcycles now stored at the PSC compound in Veterans Avenue.

As this developed, Mabalot said that  the local police authority is continuing and intensifying checkpoints in several streets and or areas in the city .

Mabalot also appealed the motorcycle owners to  visit the PSC  to check if the confiscated motorcycle belongs to them.(Letty M. Militante )  (090614)
