No shortage of candles for devotees – says DTI

ZAMBOANGA CITY (ZNS) –The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has announced that there  is  no shortage or inadequate  supply of candles in this city.

This is in preparation for the forthcoming observance of the “All Souls Day and All Saints Day “ on November 1, 2014 .

In an interview, DTI City Director Engr. Rolando Acuna said that   DTI continues to monitor  the prices of candles following the 2 to 4 % increases on  the prices  last September   17, 2014 .

Acuna said that  there was a new advisory on the Suggested  Retail Prices (SRO) on the prices of candles  but  there is nothing to worry about in as far as supplies of candles because there is sufficient supplies of candles   both for the locally produce candles and those  coming from other cities .

Acuna said that  there is also the recycle of candles . However, for special occasion candles and those with design , these candles came from the  outside manufacturer or producers for that  matter .

He  added that the increases on the prices of candles was due to the  shrotge of the material  “ paraffin or wax “  used in the manufacture of the item . (Letty M. Militante ) (100314)
