CHO records 7 measles
cases among war victims

ZAMBOANGA CITY (ZNS) -The City Health Office is conducting mass vaccination against measles at the evacuation centers and transitory sites that house thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) in this city.
City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos said Friday this came about after they have recorded seven suspected cases of measles with one mortality at the transitory sites in Barangays Taluksangay and Tulungatung.
Agbulos said the suspected cases of measles were registered from July 7 to August 3, this year.
He said four of the seven cases were recorded at the transitory site in Barangay Taluksangay and the remaining three in Barangay Tulungatung.
Agbulos disclosed that the mortality was recorded at the transitory site in Barangay Taluksangay.
Agbulos said priority to be vaccinated against measles are the children.

He explained that the disease remains as suspected measles since there is no laboratory findings yet except for clinical indication. (PNA) (080814)
