LTO strict on JAO

ZAMBOANGA CITY, (ZNS) -The Land Transporation Office IX is strictly implementing  the Joint Administrative Order (JAO)  NO. 2014-01 in the city .

 Chief Noel NOche of the Land Transportation Registration Office said that  the JAO is not only concentrated on the colorum vehicles but also on   the revised schedule of fines and penalties for violations of laws, rule and regulations governing land transportation .

As such, the revised  schedule of  fines and penalties for violations of laws governing  land transportation  services  and the procedures  for apprehension and adjudication are also promulgated and approved for implementation.

Among  these  fines and penalties to be imposed for violators are  driving with  expired and revoked, suspended, inappropriate driver’s license and their restriction code and classification , fake driver’s  licenses.
This also include tourist driving without any valid  foreign driver’s license and a student driving without being accompanied by a duly licensed driver.
Noche said that all those under R.A, 4136 are included in the implementation  such as the wearing of seat belt, failure to wear the standard protective helmet under  R.A. 10054, and failure to  renew the registration or unregistered  motor vehicle,  smoke belching  under R.A. 8749, no plate or failure to attach or tampering of authorized  vehicles license plate.

Noche further said that there is also the violations in connection with dimensions, specificaitons and weight and load limits .axle over loading and franchise.


According the Noche, R.A. 4136  has increased its fines and penalties up to one million pesos( P 1M) and as low as P 6,000. (Letty M . Militante) (081214)
